Class of 2012 - Cassie Brozek

I had the pleasure of meeting Cassie and her father at our Design Consultation a few weeks ago. I was a little nervous as I had never met them before and wasn't sure what to expect or what they were hoping to get out of me, but after the meeting, I felt SO much better. They were so sweet and I had a wonderful feeling about the session to come. The morning of our session, we met on location and with a little nerves and a few smiles we were ready! It took us a little bit to get our game faces on, but finally everyone became comfortable in front of the camera, and we were able to capture some truly stunning photos! I am so happy to share some additional images with you and how the finishing touch really makes Cassie POP! I hope you guys enjoy these as much as I do. Also, be sure to check out her slideshow below! And if you know someone looking for a photographer (families, weddings, engagements, seniors etc) refer them to me and you'll receive a $20 print credit!

I just photographed a wedding up in the beautiful Colorado mountains... I had such a wonderful time and couldn't have asked for a better Bride & Groom. Be sure to check back soon to see those images and slideshow!! Happy Monday!

Baby's First Year!

About 3 weeks ago, I had the pleasure of working with Auntie Alexa and birthday boy, Andrew! We had set up this session and a surprise gift to Alexa's sister Carly. I was told it was easy to sneak Andrew off...no questions asked! Andrew arrived ready to go, but a few minutes into it, he just wasn't having any of it. He wanted his Auntie. So we made a game out of him crawling to her and were able to capture some great shots of him! Some of my favorites include him in this baby leather chair (which I'm told he looked just like his grandpa! too cute!!). When he tired of the crawling game, we decided it was time for this little man to have some cake. He was very cautious at first, but he really got into it and it make for TONS of laughs and really great photos! I had such a blast on this shoot! Thank you so much to Andrew for participating and to Alexa for teaming up with me :) Be sure to check out these two images that I love and the slideshow of even more of Andrew's first year session!

2012 Senior Rep - Karlee Teet

Presenting the final 2012 Senior Representative for Jessi Dalton Photography, Karlee Teet! She is such an outstanding young lady and the more I get to know her the more I find out just how amazing she is. Karlee is a gymnast at Colorado Gymnastics Institute (CGI) and has just started her Senior Year at Chaparral High School. After graduating in May, she'll attend Central Michigan on a full ride scholarship for gymnastics!!

My session with Karlee was easy going and full of laughter and catching up. It's been awhile since I've had the pleasure of working with Karlee, but this session did not disappoint! I am in love with the images from her session. I am so happy and pleased that I had the opportunity to share this bit in their lives! All of their love, support, and hard work has paid off and I am truly blessed to have gotten to know this family! I am looking forward to continually watching them grow and all the good things that come there way. I hope this is only the beginning to a wonderful relationship with the Teet family! Congratulations you guys and Karlee on all of your success! Keep up the hard work and good luck with Senior Year and all the adventures that lie ahead!!

2012 Senior Rep - Lindsay Mable

I first met Lindsay about 3 years ago when I first moved to Denver. I took a job coaching gymnastics at Colorado Gymnastics Institute (CGI). She is currently a gymnast training at CGI and is about to become a senior at Eaglecrest High School. Not only does she devote all her time to be a level 10 gymnast, but she also is involved with her school as a member of student council. Kudos to Lindsay for going above and beyond!!

Lindsay stuck out from the moment I met her. She's so full of energy and has such a positive outlook on life. Her radiant smile is contagious and makes everyone around her feel welcome and as if you've known her for years. I have been so blessed to know her the past few years and look forward to seeing her grow as an athlete and as a person. You will do so well in life Lindsay. Keep you're positive attitude. Everyone needs more of you in their lives.

Our session was a walk in the park... literally. Lindsay is ready on a moments notice, never complained, and had a smile plastered on her face. She was such a pleasure to photograph and made my job a piece of cake. All the positive energy radiated into our images and I am so happy to share these with you. I also would like to tell you all that she's also accepted a full ride scholarship to the University of Minnesota! Congratulations Lindsay!! You deserve every bit of your success.

Go get 'em girl!

2012 Senior Rep - Lindsey Henke

We have to skip over the images from my trip to San Francisco for now, but I promise I will return to those! It's time I show you what I've been doing this month and what's keeping me so busy!!

Lindsey came into this session with all positive vibes! She was excited and willing to do what it took to get the perfect image. She even took a splash in the fountain to get the jumping shot we wanted. Kudos to you girl! She will be a Senior this coming year at Cherokee Trail High School and has just made the Varsity Poms team. She is such an easy going kind of gal that made this photo session such a breeze. Her willingness and spirits were contagious and it was with her attitude that made my job easy. We captured some really wonderful moments and I'm so pleased to share these all with you. These images have received a bump in color to further express the personality of Lindsey. She was such a pleasure to be around and as for Charlie (aka the dog), he was pretty great. I know my dog isn't that well behaved!

Stay tuned... Many more sessions to come! Including my first maternity session :)

Gym NV.

Hey guys!
It has been quite some time since I've updated this... I've got several entries that need to be posted and I'll to my best to get them to you in a timely manner. First of all, June wasn't that productive. It was much more about the business end instead of the shooting which is what was needed to be done, however I'm happy to say that this month is quite the opposite!

June only had 3 shoots: A gymnastics center and their team photos, my family vacation to San Francisco, CA, and images of my brother and his beautiful girlfriend. Let's start things off and the further thing and work our way towards now. Sounds like a plan... let's get this started!

Gymnastics Nevada is located in Sparks, NV. They have a high end facility catered to all levels of gymnastics. Boys, Girls, Tramp and Tumble, Recreational gymnastics, along with an outstanding Tots program!! We did not open this photo session to the entire gym, it was specifically for the 2011 Teams. Here are the images we've selected to hang at the gym.

Along side the team photos, we also did individual photos of just the team kids. Here is just a quick sample of the images ...

Pretty great huh? The new backdrop worked out beautifully and I couldn't have asked for anything more. It was such a great experience and I look forward to working with them more in the future! Again, thank you all for your patience. There are many changes in my life right now. Some are more difficult than others, but I wouldn't be able to get through it all without the love and support of my family, friends, and all of you! I just wanted to say thank you and I really hope you stop by the studio. Lots of changes are happening here too!

BNC Student Company.

It takes me 45 minutes with no traffic to make it from my place to Ballet Nouveau Colorado (BNC). Last Wednesday I left my house at 4:15 pm to give my self plenty of time to make it there, drag the equipment in, and to begin setting up at 5:30. I had an hour to set up before I began photographing the dancers. After some traffic and road construction I finally arrived at BNC at precisely 5:30pm. I walked in, greeted Ashley (the one I've been in contact and working with since February), and began to drag things in with the help of the fabulous Ashley.

After the set up was complete, all I had to do was wait for the school director, Julia, and the dancers to arrive. We started right on time and got straight to the point. The dancers' were on their best behavior and had enough discipline that when Julia said do this, they did. And not to mention... all with in the first 5 frames! They were so fabulous to work with. It made my job such a breeze.

I've watched a few of these select dancers from the Student Company dance during class before and they never disappoint. I am always blown away by their skills, grace, and ease in which they moved. It was such a pleasure to work with them and to capture just a small glimpse of what they really can do. Below is a slideshow with the final edits from the shoot with the Student Company. I think they did a wonderful job and love the outcome of the shoot.

This is the BNC building.

This is as I was setting up... I wanted to show you what I had to work with. Huge studio space, great lighting, and lots of room made this an easy space to photograph in.

Coming soon... New Business cards & Project Studio!
Stay tuned.

2011 Colorado State Track & Field Championships.

A week ago I had the pleasure of working with Jason Powers and Barry Wallace at this years Track & Field Championships on May 19-21st in Lakewood, CO. I was able to work both as a photographer and at the booth selling images to the loads of clients that continually came through. I don't think I've been to an event where there was this much of an interest in the event photography. It was amazing. It's also great to see a striving sports business in this economy.

Until this moment, I didn't have the chance to photograph Track & Field and was so excited to get this opportunity. I was stationed mostly on shot put, long jump, and triple jump, but at one point the meet was between flights/heats, and it left me amazed at the other events going on around me so I captured a few of the high jump and track. It was a great experience and look forward to more of these events... maybe this time not in the rain. Yes, I was a shooter on Thursday and we got rained on. Thank goodness for my cheap rain gear and a bit of luck haha It did make some cool gray backgrounds though!

I can't believe high jumpers... I am constantly amazed at how they can use the pole and how far it bends without breaking and on top of it making it over the top bar. Sheesh. Talent.

It's funny see the faces of athletes. It's something we constantly joke about (but understand it happens) in gymnastics, but it was funny to hear the girls and some of the boys complain about their faces. Well, this isn't your Senior Portrait... this is you pushing the limits of human capability and yeah, you're probably going to make a funny face. I wish I would have had an opportunity to get some of these photos of me, but until recently, photography and gymnastics (especially at high school level) you don't' get the chance to get.

And triple jump... My uncle once tried to teach me the three jump/skip/hurdle ... yeah, wasn't able to catch on that. Again... these guys are talented. Sometimes it makes me wish I would have attempted other sports, but the passion I had (still have) for gymnastics, took over. At least now I'm able to experience the other sports.

Stay tuned! More images from BNC's Student Company and information about becoming a 2012 Senior Rep for Jessi Dalton Photography!
