Busy, Busy, Busy!

This last month or two I will admit that I have been slacking on the blogging end of things. I have it in my daily routine to update my facebook with images, specials, events, and anything else going on, but have a more difficult time updating the blog. I will try to be better about this. I'd like to give more behind the scenes/camera on here than I can on facebook. I enjoy the social networking and am still blown away at how fast news can travel as well as keeping us all connected in one single place. It's such a great tool and can not stress enough how helpful it's been in getting me work!

Like I said above, I've been BUSY lately! I can't begin to express how lucky I am. It's not that I have a shoot everyday, but it's been about every other weekend at least and I'm constantly traveling! I feel as if I've been away more than I've been home the last two months. It's been a great learning experience and a great way to make many more connections. I've also been blessed with a few breath taking opportunities! I had the pleasure of photographing the NCAA Gymnastics Championships held on April 14-16 in Columbus, Ohio, I created a one of a kind custom panorama poster for the Oklahoma Sooners end of the year gifts, and I've been asked to photograph my good friends wedding at the end of the month!

Since there is far too many images to catch up on, I'd like to leave the links to each photo album on facebook and then give you a little information on each. I think that will be easier and in the future I will try to include both.

To start it off we have Ballet Nouveau Colorado. They're a modern dance company and a school. I was asked to come photograph one of their outreach programs at a local school and was amazed at the professional dancers as they performed during this assembly. They sort of 'danced through the ages' and put on a very enjoyable and informational performance. I was then lucky enough to go and photograph during their student company and classes. It was another great experience!
BNC Assembly - February 20, 2011 in Broomfield, CO

About a month of not much work, I booked the state gymnastics meet in Nevada. It was held at my parent's gymnastics center (Gymnastics Nevada) in Sparks, NV. It was a great day filled with a lot of gymnastics. This was my first big photo gig that I ran all by myself since graduation and I was really pleased with it's outcome! Looking forward to doing more of these!
Men's NV State Championships - March 12, 2011 in Sparks, NV

I was literally home one night after getting back from Nevada when I had to pack up and head out again. This time to Oklahoma... I was there to get shots of every since Sooner to create end of the year gifts that the parents purchase for each guy on the team. It was a great venue, great meet, and got some really amazing photographs! I can't even begin to explain the rush from being out on the floor and in such a high energy environment! Makes me love my job so much more being surround by this community!
Oklahoma vs Penn & Ill - March 19, 2011 in Norman, Ok

I was hired by the University of Oklahoma this time to photograph the MPSF Championships. The Sooners were headed into this meet undefeated. It was a close meet and the boys walked away with second place which ignited flame for NCAA. This was my first paid gig for a university. I went in nervous and came out with such a rush. Gymnastics is such an underrated sport.
MPSF - April 2, 2011 in Colorado Springs, CO

All of this lead up to the NCAA Championships. I was hired again by the Sooners to capture their success at the championships. I worked all 3 nights and felt as if I too competed. I was completely pooped after the long, but very exciting weekend. I've only been able to edit night one of competition so far, but am currently working on night two. I've been so blessed this season and am looking forward to the start of the new season... it'll be a long summer without gymnastics. I will post a blog when night two and three are finished. Until then, enjoy the first round of images!
NCAA - Night one - April 14-16, 2011 in Columbus, Ohio

Since the season has ended, I'm now currently looking to add to my portfolio! If you have a wedding, maternity, baby, or young child, I'd love to photograph you! There will be a nice discount for your time and effort! I'm also looking to book 2012 High School Seniors or any other spring portraits you have in mind! I've also just added a pre-prom special and sessions! Contact me for any of the above! Looking forward to the beautiful weather and images the Spring and Summer bring!

Up next: Night two and three of NCAA Championships, Chelsea's Wedding, and Portraits!
